Meet our ENT surgeon, Dr Neil Crosby

Dr Neil Crosby is a dedicated ENT specialist whose medical journey began with his graduation from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2003. After his internship, Dr Crosby worked in the field of general surgery and trauma and began his specialist training. After this, Dr Crosby’s passion for the intricacies of ear, nose, and throat care led him to switch his focus to ENT in 2008, where he transferred to Durban. There, he also contributed to the Air-Mercy service before he undertook his specialist training in Bloemfontein, which he completed in 2014.

Following several years in the public health sector, Dr Crosby transitioned to full-time private practice in 2017 at Midvaal Hospital in Three Rivers, Gauteng. His approach to healthcare is profoundly influenced by his fascination with the complex anatomy of the head and neck and the profound impact that ENT conditions can have on essential human functions such as hearing, breathing, speaking, and swallowing. This combination of medical and surgical challenges fuels his professional enthusiasm and allows him to forge lasting, impactful relationships with his patients.

Outside of his clinic, Dr Crosby is an avid outdoorsman. Cycling, swimming, and hiking are more than just hobbies; they are extensions of his lifestyle, reflecting his deep connection with nature and his commitment to maintaining personal wellness. His interactions with the natural world, alongside a deep-seated love for animals, provide him with continuous inspiration and balance.

Dr Crosby’s medical interests range from conductive hearing loss and general ENT practices to more specialised areas such as middle ear reconstructive surgery, nasal surgery, and the management of complex sinus issues.
