FAQs

1. What is your billing policy?

Our practice charges the medical-aid tariffs recommended by the various schemes. Your final reimbursement depends on the plan you have chosen and the rules attached to it. If your medical aid pays only a portion, you remain responsible for any outstanding balance. Private consultation fees are available on request by telephone or email. For account queries, please phone +270164546057 or email [email protected].

2. How do I prepare for surgery?

Preparation begins with a detailed discussion in the consulting room. Dr Crosby explains the procedure, answers questions, and obtains your written consent. The practice team then applies for pre-authorisation from your medical aid and sends an SMS confirming the date, time, and hospital. You will receive hospital admission forms to present on the day of surgery. The surgical fee already includes follow-up consultations for the first four weeks. If anything is unclear at any stage, call the rooms, and a staff member will guide you.

3. Do I need a referral letter?

A referral letter is not required for most appointments; you may book directly. Certain medical-aid options insist on a GP referral before reimbursing the insured rate. If you are uncertain, check the rules of your specific plan before scheduling.

4. What happens before my visit?

Once your booking is confirmed, you will receive a reminder SMS the day before the consultation. On arrival, we will ask you to complete a brief patient information form. This ensures your medical record and contact details are accurate.

5. What should I bring to the appointment?

ID and medical-aid card.
Any recent blood tests, radiology reports, or imaging discs (X-ray, CT, MRI).
Previous hearing test results.
A written list of current medications with exact dosages.

Having these items ready allows the consultation to focus on assessment rather than paperwork.

6. What if Dr Crosby is running behind schedule?

Occasionally, an emergency case or a complex consultation that requires extra time delays the schedule. Your patience is appreciated; the same thorough care will be offered to you when needed.

7. How can I reach the accounts department?

For billing statements, payment arrangements, or medical-aid queries, contact the accounts team at +270164546057 during office hours or email [email protected]. A prompt reply will follow.

Clear information makes navigating each step—booking, surgery, and follow-up—easier. If your question is not listed here, please phone the rooms; the team will gladly assist.
